<p>The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases on Wednesday launched a website to help people get appointments online. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The website also offers an online lung health programme, which enables patients to upload basic details in the online form that will be submitted to doctor concerned. <br /><br />Also on the occasion, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the super-speciality hospital building of SDS Tuberculosis Research Centre and the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases in the City. Foundation stone for the building was laid way back in 1998.<br /><br /> The building was initially planned when Veerappa Moily was the chief minister and a grant of Rs five crore was allocated for the project. “As this was delayed due to various reasons, the total expense now sums up to Rs 14.85 crore,” he said. <br /><br />Siddaramaiah also said that it is impossible to stop addictions such as smoking. <br /><br />“If we ban tobacco, other illegal activities will start,” he said, adding that an attempt to ban it in Gadag, Sandur and Belthangadi was unsuccessful. </p>
