Gujarat Police accuse Bihar counterparts of laxity

The Gujarat DGP’s office, in a release on Wednesday, alleged laxity in security arrangements for Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Patna. It accused the police in Bihar of “indifference and laxity” while dealing with security measures.

The DGP’s office claimed that exchanges for security preparedness were initiated by the Gujarat Police on October 8. A special team was sent for a meeting with the Bihar Police officers. The Bihar Police was allegedly reluctant to hold the Joint Advance Security Liasoning (JASL).

The release said a JASL was held after much persuasion. The Bihar Police officers also refused to sign the JASL for unknown reasons. The release claimed that apart from route rehearsal, no other security drills were initiated by the Bihar Police.
