'Provide water to Tarikere from Bhadra'

The decision was taken as the present system of water supply the town from Manasikere of Duglapura was found unscientific. Municipality Member T J Gopikumar said that the executive officer had written to the government in this regard earlier too.

However, the government did not respond positively, he added.  Municipality standing committee president T K Prakash said that those who were allotted sites under the Rajiv Gandhi Residential Scheme will be provided loan to the tune of Rs 1 lakh for the construction of houses. Beneficiaries should make use of the scheme, he added. Health Dept officials informed in the meeting that jaundice disease is being spread in the town due the supplyof contaminated water. Member M Narendra urged the council to sanction fund for the control of disease. The meet decided to erect sign boards in all wards in the town.
