JOIN USIndiranagar High School’s Praveen Kumar emerged the fastest athlete in the boys’ under-16 section on the opening leg of the 25th Deccan Athletic Club weekend meet, sponsored by Deccan Herald and Prajavani, here at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
The teenager crossed the line in 11.60 seconds while Sankarshan D (11.80) of Delhi Public School, South, won the silver and Army Public School’s Harpal Singh (12.00) took the bronze.
His namesake, Praveen Kumar S of Max Muller Public School shone in middle and long distance races. Praveen won the 800 metres gold after clocking 2:12.80 before nailing the yellow metal in the 3000M event too with a timing if 10:46.90.
In the boys’ under-13 section, Bhagawan Kripa of Vidyaniketan won the 100M as well as the long jump gold medals.
