Minister of External Affairs S M Krishna said this in the wake of reports that Mirwaiz had got an invite from an NGO in China to attend a function which he was planning to attend.

"He is free to travel wherever he wants," Krishna told reporters outside Parliament House.
He said the Ministry of External Affairs encouraged such visits whether these were to "Pakistan or China".

Mirwaiz will be visiting China as a guest of an NGO and will deliver a lecture there.

When asked if India was considering extradition of David Coleman Headley, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, accused of plotting terror attacks in India on LeT's behest, and some of the accused based in Pakistan, Krishna said, "Investigations are still on. We are awaiting the report of the investigation."

The government would take appropriate steps once the report is submitted, he said.
