The protesters led a procession from Salumaradamma Temple, culminated at Mini Vidhana Soudha and staged a protest.

They said that thousands of acres of agriculture land in  Lakkavalli and Kasaba hobli have been damaged and hence Agriculture Department must pay attention towards the same and do the needful.

The protesters were raged by the absence of Assistant Commissioner as they wanted to hand over a memorandum. They shouted out slogans against the Assistant Commissioner.
Finally the Assistant Commissioner arrived after one hour and an altercation broke out between the farmers and the AC. DySP Mallikarjuna convinced the protesters.

‘Hold survey’

Assistant Commissioner Shashidhar Kurera after going through the memorandum of the farmers asked the Agriculture and revenue department to hold a survey on crop loss collaboratively and submit a report to the Government.

District Agriculture Joint Director Thippesh and Assistant Director Manjunath informed the farmers about the steps taken by the Department.

Former MLA B R Neelakantappa said that farmers spend a minimum of Rs 10,000 to cultivate paddy on one acre land. The farmers have lost the money and the crop and hence government must release a sum of Rs crore as compensation to these farmers.
