3 killed in Dombivli factory blast

A massive explosion in a chemical company in Dombivli killed three workers and left at least seven others critically injured on Friday morning and it is feared that toll may rise up later in the night.

Local media stated that nine fire engines were pressed into fighting the blaze which had enveloped the entire Chemistar company unit; located at MIDC Phase-II in Dombivli (East) around 70 km from Mumbai; the fire was finally snuffed out late noon.

Personnel of the Manpada police station till late evening were, however, still collating details of the incident and refused to mention the names of the deceased.
