The Tamil Nadu government today sanctioned Rs nine lakh as compensation to the families of victims of attacks by wild animals.
Two persons were killed by wild elephants recently in Coimbatore and Krishnagiri districts and another died after being attacked by a bison in Dindigul, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said in a statement.
She said she has directed the Forest Department to pay Rs three lakh each as compensation to the families of the deceased.
