Bedi visits Anna, to join fast on Sat

Last Updated 11 December 2013, 20:56 IST

Gandhian Anna Hazare’s hunger strike in far-flung misty and cold Ralegan Siddi entered its second day, with his supporter and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi visiting the septuagenarian and announcing that she would join the fast from Saturday.

Hazare began the fast on Tuesday demanding passage of the Lokpal Bill in the on-going winter session of Parliament.

Bedi attributed the recent poll performance of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party to a “series of hunger strikes”, describing the party as an “offshoot of Lokpal movement”.

Bedi, an active participant in all agitations by Hazare since 2011, wondered before the supporters whose numbers are swelling gradually despite the swirling mist, why opposition parties are keeping silent.
