JOIN USA 25-year old woman journalist working in the electronic media was molested on Thursday evening in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar Phase-I area, police said.
The incident took place when she was on her way back home at 7 pm near a public school in Mayur Vihar, police added. “A rickshaw puller and his friend saw her walking alone and passed lewd remarks and tried to molest her,” a police officer said.
“The victim tried to ignore them but they continued making obscene gestures and even tried to attack her. The victim was brave enough to fight back the two men who were misbehaving with her,” the officer added. Hearing the commotion, locals rushed to the victim’s rescue and the woman caught hold of one of the accused persons and handed him over to police, he added.
“A case of molestation and outraging the modesty of a woman has been registered at Pandav Nagar Police Station. Efforts are being made to nab the other accused,” the officer said.
