Mulayam warns partymen to shun 'hooliganism'

Those indulging in hooliganism are maligning the image of the party, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said today, strictly warning partymen to shun such behaviour or be ready to be sacked from the party.

"SP workers indulge in hooliganism at many places. If a person of minister's family does hooliganism, our image is maligned. If I hear incident of hooliganism, I will sack those involved from the party," Yadav said.

The Samajwadi Party chief praised BJP workers in this regard.

"BJP workers did not indulge in hooliganism so they won (elections) in many states," he said, addressing partymen at an event on 111th birth anniversary of Chowdhury Charan Singh at party office here.

Yadav was apparently peeved at the incident in Jaunpur on December 21 when Cabinet minister and Lok Sabha candidate Parasnath Yadav's son Lucky Yadav allegedly misbehaved with some party workers, said to be supporters of K P Yadav, whose name was earlier declared as Lok Sabha candidate.

"Those doing hooliganism are harming the party. Party cannot be run like this. Such hooliganism cannot be tolerated. If someone's father is a minister, it doesn't mean he can be involve in hooliganism," the SP chief said.

"If you are in the government, your words and language should be such which could impress people," he said.

Earlier, praising former Prime Minister Charan Singh, Yadav highlighted his contribution for uplift of poor and work done for farmers.
