Jobless, engg grad ends life

A 23-year-old engineering graduate reportedly committed suicide at his home in Manjunathnagar on Friday. The deceased Bhaskar, a native of Andhra Pradesh, was living with his family in the City.

According to the police, Bhaskar was depressed since he had been jobless after completing his graduation. He hanged himself from the ceiling fan when the family members had gone out. A case has been registered.

Auto driver found dead

An auto driver was found near the St Joseph’s College on Residency Road under the Ashoknagar police station limits on Friday. The deceased is Ranganath, (30) a resident of Chikkabidrakallu and a native of Sira taluk in Tumakuru district.

Passersby found his body near a transformer and called the police. Preliminary investigation revealed that Ranganath had gone near the transformer to relieve himself and might have been electrocuted since the ground near the transformer was damp.

Hotel worker killed

A 21-year-old hotel worker was mowed down by a speeding lorry at Rajapalya near Hoodi under KR Puram traffic police station limits on Friday.

The victim, Kiran, a native of Mysuru, was living in Hoodi. On Friday afternoon, he was riding his two-wheeler to his workplace when a lorry rear-ended him.

He fell down and the speeding lorry ran over the him. The lorry driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot, police said.

Passersby rushed Kiran to a nearby hospital, but the doctors declared him brought dead. Police rushed to the spot and seized the lorry. They have registered a case.
