Tech firm donates camera traps to Forest dept

CSS Corp, a private technology-service company, will donate 400 digital camera traps to the Karnataka Forest department, to monitor tigers at the Nagarhole Tiger Resrve.

These cameras will be equipped with infrared motion-sensors, which will trigger when there is a movement within the field of the scope. Imported from Australia, these cameras capture high quality images up to eight megapixels in quality. The first such camera was symbolically handed over to the department on Thursday.

Speaking on this occasion, T G Ramesh, the CEO of CSS Corps, said that these cameras can even help keep a track of illegal activities in the forests. R Gokul, Conservator of Forest NTR, was present on this occasion.
