JOIN USA 21-year-old bank employee committed suicide at his residence in JC Nagar on Wednesday night.
The JC Nagar police identified the victim as M Prakash from Chennapattna, an employee of the State Bank of Mysore, City Branch. His father Manjunath was also employed at the same branch, police said.
Prakash had dinner with his parents and went to bed. When his mother went to his room at 7.15 am to give him coffee, she noticed his body hanging from a ceiling fan. The reason for Prakash taking the extreme step is not known, police said.
Worker killed
A 47-year-old man was killed after he was run over by a car at the Peenya police station junction early Thursday morning. The victim was identified as Mohammad Islamuddin, a resident of Nagasandra near Doddabidrikal and an employee at a steel factory.
According to police, the accident occurred at 6.55 am when Islamuddin was returning home on his bicycle after completing night shift.
The car, which was travelling to Tumkur from Yeswantpur, rammed him from behind, throwing him off his bicycle. He came under the the wheels of the car and died, police said. Driver Uday has been arrested.
