Appointments to H-K Board may be cleared today

The State cabinet on Friday is scheduled to give its approval for appointment of members to the Hyderabad-Karnataka (H-K) Development Board.

The Cabinet sub-committee headed by Minister H K Patil on Thursday held a meeting to finalise the appointments to be made to the Board. Besides ex officio members, eight legislators, two MPs and seven subject experts will be the members. The legislators will have a tenure of one year and it will be on a rotation basis.

Sources said that the following names of elected representatives have been cleared by the committee: Malikayya Guttedar, Allum Prabhu, K B Shanappa, Umesh Jadhav, Basavaraj Rayareddy, Maalaka Reddi, Priyank Kharge, Tukaram, Hampanagouda Badarli, Venkatesh Naik, Eshwar Khandre, Dharam Singh, besides some ministers including Qamarul Islam. However, the Cabinet will take a final call on the appointments to be made.

Some of the subject experts to be on the panel are: Dr B Seshadri, Chaya Devagonkar, Abdul Rub Syed, V R Patil and Boseraj.
