Members of the Cubbon Park Walkers’ Association and others staged a protest on Tuesday urging Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj to take back the government’s proposal to set up a Cubbon Park Management Authority.
Walkers gathered at the Seshadri Iyer Memorial Library and held a candlelight vigil. They shouted slogans, holding placards with messages like “Save Cubbon Park, Save Greenery”. “We will stage another protest in the coming week if the government does not withdraw its proposal,” said S Umesh, President of the Association.
