Last Updated 25 November 2009, 19:39 IST

Announcing this here on Wednesday morning, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the leakage was “unfortunate” and it had happened when he was out of the country.
“I will discuss the matter with the home minister when I get back and ascertain how the report got leaked,” the prime minister said.

The report, which was a result of 18 long years of inquiry by Justice (retd) Liberhan, has been with the Centre for the last few months.

The government had said the report would be placed before Parliament with an action taken report on it. The details of the report appeared in the media a day after the prime minister left Delhi on a nine-day visit to the United States of America and Trinidad and Tobago.
