JOIN USStrict action will be taken against those erring, irrespective of the influence or power they wield, Governor H R Bhardwaj said here on Sunday.
He was replying to a query by mediapersons on the inclusion of ‘tainted’ Congress leaders D K Shivakumar and Roshan Baig in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Tumkur University convocation, Bhardwaj said: “I am not a rubber stamp. I shall not spare anyone found guilty, no matter how influential the person is.”
However, the Governor said he had not received any documents indicting Shivakumar and Baig of irregularities, which are said to have been sent by S R Hiremath of the Samaja Parivartana Samudaya.
“Even the BJP leaders have not approached me, seeking dismissal of the two from the Cabinet,” he said.
On media reports that the Tumkur University had awarded doctoral degree to six candidates in violation of the guidelines laid down by the University Grants Commission, Bhardwaj said they were ‘baseless’.
