Swim lesson turns fatal for boy

Swimming lesson turned fatal for a 14-year-old boy in Mahadevapura here on Monday, police said. Karan, a class VII student at a government school in B Narayanapura, drowned in a well at Garudacharapalya as his friends watched in horror. The group of teenagers was learning swimming. 

Karan, who was staying with his uncle after his mother passed away, started to drown as soon as he went into the water. His friends tried to save him but in vain and swam to safety. Thereafter, they called local residents for help. Karan was, however, dead when his body was fished out.
