JOIN USA five-year-old girl, studying in class I, was allegedly sexually abused by a 60-year-old neighbour in Hebbal on Monday evening.
The Hebbal police arrested the man following a complaint by the mother of the girl. The arrested has been identified as Krishna Reddy, 60, a cab driver.
Police said the mother of the victim had separated from her husband and was living in a rented house in the area with her daughter.
She had taken up tailoring for a living. On Monday evening, the mother had gone out for work when the incident is said to have occurred.
The girl complained of pain in her private parts at night and when asked by her mother, she revealed that Krishna Reddy abused her.
The girl was rushed to a nearby private hospital where she is being treated. Medical examination was conducted at Baptist Hospital.
Police said Krishna Reddy was a habitual drinker and was known to the girl. Police said he was in an inebriated state when arrested.
