Bhatti owners vow to end child labour

At a meeting convened by Urban Development Minister S Suresh Kumar to elicit their problems, the bhatti owners said they would sincerely work towards eliminating child labour in the coming days.

Mandakki is made from rice, usually by heating rice kernels in a sand-filled oven. It is used as snack food and in breakfast cereals, and is also a popular street food in most parts of north Karnataka. Davangere district is a major manufacturer of mandakki in the State.
