KMF not to hike milk price

KMF President G Somshekar Reddy on Thursday maintained that there will be no hike in milk price.

Speaking to reporters in the City on Thursday, he stated the KMF was contemplating to hike the prices of milk sold outside the State.

He informed that the farmers were demanding enhancement in milk procurement price. Some private dairies were purchasing milk in Belgaum region at a higher price and selling milk in Mumbai. The milk purchased in Bidar-Gulbarga region was being sold at higher prices in Andhra Pradesh. The KMF wants to buy milk from those farmers by offering a higher price, he confirmed.

He said milk price hike was not on the agenda for the December 5 KMF meeting .
