Kristal Spirits plans to export vodka from India

Kristal Spirits, the Indian bottler and distribution partner of F Beverages, plans to export Fashion vodka from its Indian bottling facility to South Asian countries in the next two years, after establishing  footprint in India.

“We would look  at exporting to Maldives and Sri Lanka in the next two years or so, after we capture about 10 per cent of the premium vodka market in India,” Managing Director of Kristal Spirits Arun Aditya said.

He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of launching Fashion vodka in Bangalore on Wednesday.

F Beverages launched in 2010 is an arm of Fashion TV.

The vodka market in India, Aditya said, is estimated at about 9 million cases annually, of which premium vodka comprises about 1 million cases. Kristal Spirits would target 10 per cent, he added.

“The vodka is bottled at Alcobrew Distilleries in Punjab in which we have invested about $10 million,” Aditya said. The company is exploring possibility of bottling in Maharashtra going forward, CEO of the company Rahul Kashyap said.

The hard liquor market size in India is about 300 million cases annually, of which vodka comprises about 3 per cent and growing at 22 per cent, Aditya said, citing an industry report.
