Two killed in accidents

A chartered accountant and a software professional have been killed in separate accidents in the City since Thursday evening.

Sahanamurthy (34), a chartered accountant, died when a lorry rammed his bike near the Central Silk Board junction on Thursday evening.

Madiwala traffic police said Sahanamurthy, a resident of Bannerghata Road, was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

“The lorry owned by a man named Reddy was hired by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike to transport garbage. It has been seized and driver Basavachary has been arrested,” said a police.

In another accident, a 24-year-old software professional was killed after he fell from his bike on Lashkar Road in the early hours of Friday.

According to Ashok Nagar traffic police, Vivek, a native of Mysore and resident of JP Nagar, was riding the two-wheeler with his friend Rakesh, at around 1 am. Both were in an inebriated condition, said the police.

Vivek lost control over the vehicle while trying to negotiate the potholes and fell to the ground. Passersby rushed him  to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Rakesh escaped with minor injuries.
