Man hacked to death by friends over 'petty issue'

A 27-year-old youth was hacked to death allegedly by his friends over a petty issue in Mahadevapura on Sunday night.

The victim was identified as Sandeep, a resident of 5th Cross, NPR Layout, PWD Road, B Narayanpura.

According to police, Sandeep was a small-time realtor in Mahadevapura. He picked a quarrel with his friends Mayur and others over motorbike wheelies near Dhanvathri Hospital at around 8.30 pm.

Sandeep called up his younger brother Madhu Kiran on the phone at 11 pm and told him that Mayur and his friends were assaulting him, and asked him to rush to PWD Road. Kiran rushed to the spot and saw his brother lying in a pool of blood.

Injuries

He had sustained injuries on his right shoulder, head and chest, police said. Sandeep was rushed to a private hospital at Kaggadasapura where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police have taken a few youths into custody in connection with the incident.
