Chitra Mela from today

The Rashtriya Vigyan Chitra Mela competition organised by the Vigyan Prasar will start on January 29 at the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum in the City.

The competition will take place in four categories: Popular science programme (more than 20 minutes), Short film on science and technology (less than 20 minutes), animation, graphics or special effects in science and technology film or video and science and technology films made by student/s.

Cash prizes of Rs one lakh,  Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 will be awarded to the winners of first, second and third places, respectively. Also, a jury award with a cash price of Rs 40,000, a trophy and certificate will be awarded to an outstanding film on science and technology.

 The awards will be distributed on February 2, along with a short video competition with the theme ‘The need of new drugs for tuberculosis.’
