Bangalore Customs Zone revenues rise 24 per cent

Bangalore Customs Zone comprising commissionerates of Bangalore Customs and Mangalore Customs collected revenues of Rs 6,250 crore during the period April-December 2013, up  24 per cent from the corresponding period in 2012, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Bangalore Customs Zone, R P Raheja said in a statement.

While Bangalore Customs Commissionerate covers the Air Cargo Complex, Bangalore airport, Inland Container Depot, Customs Division and Postal Appraising Department, the Mangalore Commissionerate consists of Mangalore port, 10 minor ports and Mangalore airport.

Revenue collection at Bangalore Commissionerate was Rs 4,769 crore during the April-December 2013 period, up 20 per cent during the corresponding period of 2012, Raheja said in the statement. The Zone covers the whole of Karnataka.
