Confusion on ration cards: TP Chief warns of protest

If the confusion is not rectified within 15 days, then a protest will be staged in front of Tahsildar office, warned Taluk Panchayat President Kechamada Saritha Poonaccha.

Speaking at taluk panchayat review meeting, she said owing to the irresponsibility of the revenue and food department, poor have received APL cards. While rich have received Below Poverty Line (BPL)  cards. This is causing inconvenience to the poor to make use of the public distribution system.

Food Inspector Rajanna said a report on the discrepencies in ration card has been submitted to Deputy Commissioner. After Deputy Commissioner’s direction, all the loopholes will be rectified.

Taluk Panchayat EO Dr Nagaraju said criminal case will be filed against those who misuse BPL card.  Majority of the land of health centres are still in the name of donors and private personnel. The land must be transferred to the health department, said Taluk Health Officer Dr Yathiraj.

He said Blood bank will be started at Gonikoppa Community Health Centre. A generator is the need of the hour to the centre.  Poonaccha directed to provide clean water to Anganwadi centres. Horticulture department Assistant Director M K Dina said agriculture fair will be held at Ponnampet in the second week of December. 45 personnel will be taken out on tour by the horticulture department.  It was decided to issue notices to those officials who fail to attend the meeting.
