People's Problems

Fill potholes on road

The first cross road in CHBS-3 Layout of Vijayanagar has lot of potholes. Three weeks ago, a group of labourers who came to clean the road said they were making preparations for asphalting the road. Till now no progress has taken place. The state of the road is very bad. The slabs covering the drains are not laid. Walking on this road has become dangerous for pedestrians. Hope authorities concerned will take measures before some untoward incident take place.

Construct road hump

Kindly construct a road hump or provide a 15-second traffic halt signal (similar to the one near Esteem Mall) to reduce the speed of vehicles plying on both sides of the ORR (Hebbal - Rammurthynagar) at Hebbal Kempapura Bus stop.

Thousands of people including students cross this road to enter Hebbal Kempapura. It takes at least 20 minutes to cross the road because of continuous flow of traffic. Speed-breaker on each side will bring down the speed of vehicles and facilitate pedestrians. It would be in the interest of pedestrians’ safety if the authorities concerned act before any untoward incident occurs on this stretch.

Toxic smoke near hospitals

A heap of plastic scrap is set on fire on the side of the busy Alur Venkata Rao Road, every day. Several health facilities such as Minto Eye, Government ENT and Vani Vilas Hospitals are located on this road.

The whole area, including the nearby health facilities, is enveloped by toxic smoke which is turning into a major health hazard. Tourists visiting the nearby Tipu Sultan Summer Palace also take unpleasant memories of the so-called Garden City. The authorities concerned should swing into action and stop this nuisance immediately.

BDA layout lacks basic amenities

The Bangalore Development Authority has not provided basic amenities at Banashankari 6th stage, 4th ‘B’ Block, Further Extension, even after nine years of forming the layout.

The engineers have been giving false and evasive replies stating that water and sanitary work have been entrusted to BWSSB and the work is in progress since 2008. Nothing has been done to provide civic facilities in this layout despite repeated directions by the High Court to BDA to finish the incomplete work on layouts already formed before taking up new ones.

The site allottees have been unable to construct houses in this layout for want of basic facilities. Repeated requests to the BDA and chief minister have not met with any response. The BDA is requested to immediately provide roads, water supply, sanitation and electricity in the layout.

Road work halted

The HMT Link Road to Tumkur Road in Jalahalli is in a very pathetic state. Few months ago, the local MLA and politicians put up hoardings taking credit for commencing the repair work. But after a few days of digging deep side tranches, the road is left as a death trap with no signs of restart of work. The hoardings have vanished from the scene. Hundreds of commuters including industrialists and politicians use this road daily but, everyone seems to be helpless.

Monkey menace in Ramachandrapura

The residents of 6th, 7th and 8th crosses of Ramachandrapura Cross, behind Old Cinema Tent, (near BEL Market, Jalahalli Post Office) are facing a lot of problem because of monkeys. The residents fear going to terrace because of the invading simians.
They always damage telephone and Internet connections, apart from opening up water taps. Many times they have broken the pipes of solar water heater.
Could the authorities concerned find a solution for the problem?

Expedite drain repair work in Ilyas Nagar

The BBMP work on desilting and repairing the drain in Ilyas Nagar has been progressing at snail’s pace. The work is on and off for the last three months. The slabs on some part of the drain have been removed and left open.

This has been causing lot of inconvenience to the residents.

A child fell into the open drain while playing. Mosquito menace is on the rise and children are down with fever.

The requests made to the authorities concerned to expedite the work, have been of no avail. Complaints are being lodged on the BBMP helpline for the past one month and no action has been taken till date.

The matter has also been brought to the notice of engineers, chief engineers and Bommanahalli joint commissioner. Despite all these efforts, there has been
no response from the authorities concerned.
