Bellary SP told to appear before KSHRC

 
The Karnataka State Human Rights Commission’s action was initiated after a complaint was lodged by the Nabaghana Pany, the Vice President of MSPL Limited, which is into mining in Bellary area.  The firm’s Vice President alleged that the corporate functionaries and officers of the petitioner company were harassed by the SP.

This, he alleged, was done as per the dictates of G Janardhana Reddy, the minister who owns Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), and BJP MLA B P Anand Singh, who is also a partner in SSB Minerals, another mining company.”

Pany added in his complaint that on the basis of a complaint by Srinivas Reddy, Managing Director of Obulapuram Mining Company, a SI of Rural police station Bellary issued notice on November 14, 2009 to Rahul Baldota and S K Modi, ‘with a clear mala fide intention’ to secure  their presence in the police station and to harass and humiliate them in Srinivas Reddy’s presence.

No FIR registered

This course was adopted without registering FIR under Section 154  of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). The complainant has also made certain personal allegations against the ASP.

Ensure security

The Karnataka State Human Rights Commission has directed the ASP and the SI to appear before the Commission on December 22 at 11  am. Karnataka State Human Rights Commission has also directed the Home Department and SP of Bellary to take every step to ensure the safety and security of Rahul Baldota and Executive Director of MSPL Meda Venkataiah.
