Women caught 'stealing' chain in bus

Passengers of a BMTC bus on Friday caught four women who were trying to steal gold chains in the crowded vehicle. The arrested have been identified as Asha, Usha, Gayatri and Meera, all natives of Tamil Nadu.

The four women boarded a Peenya-bound bus at Yeshwantpur, each carrying a child. As the bus passed through Goraguntepalya, one of the passengers realised that her gold chain was missing.

The needle of suspicion pointed to the four women who allegedly confessed to the crime on being grilled.

Peenya police arrested the women and recovered the gold chain from them. Police said the foursome could be operating as a professional gang and might have been involved in similar crimes in the City.
