'I date for romance, not fame'

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old musician also claimed that his records are so “likeable” that they overshadow any negative stories written about him and his love affairs. “At the end of the day, all I owe the world in exchange for my dumb face being in their lives, are ten songs every couple of years. These songs are hopefully of greater magnitude than somebody’s story about me. You’ll walk away from the record liking me a hell of a lot more than you would walking away from an interview,” Mayer said.
