Karthik sparkles for Indiranagar

R Karthik’s century powered Indiranagar Cricketers to a 38-run win over Visweswarapuram Cricket Club in the YS Ramaswamy Memorial Trophy tournament here.

Batting first, Indiranagar Cricketers piled on 304 for nine in 50 overs with Karthik (109) leading the way alongside contributions from Vijay Sundaramurthy (65) and Karthikeyan (69).

In response, Visweswarapuram CC rode on the back of HP Rahul’s (88) effort to close in on the total but with no other contributions coming their way, they were bowled out for 266 in 46.1 overs. 

Aseem, who returned with figures of four for 46, was the pick of the bowlers for Indiranagar Cricketers.

In another match, Sir Syed Cricketers defeated Bangalore Cricketers by 16 runs riding on a good all-round show. 

Bating first, Sir Syed were all out for 194 in 48.1 overs with Pawar VS (55) Rakshith S (34) and Tejas Gowda (30) as the main contributors.
