Power, antiquity rub shoulders here

Connaught Place is one place in Delhi which has a lot of history and historical buildings. Boasting of thousands of offices, Connaught Place enjoys the status of being the most important area too. Popularly known as ‘CP’ by Delhiites, it has houses of all the VIPs’ and VVIPs’ of Delhi.

All the popular and high-end eating joints and restaurants are also part of CP. Be it buying clothes, this place also offers all the possible brands too. But, leading to CP is one of the most important streets of this area – the Parliament Street. Considered to be one of the most important streets of New Delhi, Parliament Street is also known as Sansad Marg.

There are a number of interesting attractions on Parliament Street. Whenever it is mentioned, the first thing that comes to the mind of all Delhiites and even the people of India is the Parliament House. Since Delhi is the power hub of the country, the magnificent Parliament House on the street makes it more distinct from others.
The street also has All India Radio (AIR), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the General Post Office, Life Insurance Corporation of India rubbing shoulders with the Parliament Street Police Station and the historic Jantar
Mantar with a few five-star hotels in between.

Undoubtedly, as the name suggests, the greatest attraction on this street is the Parliament House. To visit it, tourists can get permits from the office located on Raisina Road. Thereafter they can also view the ongoing sessions of the Parliament and sit in the public gallery.

For tourists Parliament Street is a complete paradise as they can find all kinds of comfortable hotels, all banks and various shops in the area.

The area, under strict police surveillance due to VIP movements, resembles a well-guarded fortress!
