We are with you, police tell Valentines

Valentines can rest easy. They can blissfully go mushy, shooting cupid arrows under safe cover of City police. For, according to Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Kamal Pant, they will brook no interference whatsoever from moral police as the City’s lovebirds fete Valentine’s Day this Friday to their heart’s content.

Pant assured that elaborate security arrangements will be in place and police will act sternly against those trying to disrupt or raid party venues to put a dampener on festivities.

“We will not tolerate any act of moral policing by anybody or any group or organisation,” Panth declared adding “we will act sternly against acts of moral policings and ensure peaceful celebrations.”

Besides forces being deployed at strategic locations and sensitive areas, jurisdictional police have been instructed to take suitable action against anybody trying to create ruckus, he said.

The police would take severe action against those trying to raid any gift centre, eateries, parks and venues where celebrations are organised.

The police will take suitable action against those trying to indulge in obscene activity or wrong doing in public place. Citizens could immediately contact the nearest police station if they find any such activity by any revellers, Panth said. The jurisdictional police have been empowered to take action based on development situation, he added.
