Masters in Food Security

University of Glasgow is offering a Masters programme in Food Securing providing graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills relating to the broad topic of food security, incorporating socio-economic, animal and crop aspects. A key feature is that it provides a very broad perspective on Food Security: it discusses the demographic, social and economic issues; the challenges of achieving sustainable agriculture; and presents the factors affecting food production from crops and animal sources. Career prospects include working in agri-industry, research institutes, government advisory, international advisory, media and research positions.

MSc in Language, Speech Processing

UK based University of Sheffield offering a master degree course in Computer Science with Speech and Language Processing. Recent times have witnessed a demand for skilled professionals in areas associated with Speech and Language Processing (SLP) such as machine translation, document indexing and retrieval, and speech recognition. The programme will have intakes in September of each year.

MSc in Cancer Sciences

The University of Glasgow has launched an innovative new Masters degree in Cancer Sciences which will allow graduates to take a “bench to bedside” approach to studying the disease. Starting in September 2014, the University of Glasgow MSc in Cancer Sciences will be based at the university’s Institute of Cancer Sciences.
The course will prepare post-graduate students for a career in cancer science, whether they aim to pursue a PhD or further medical studies; seek a career in the health services sector; or wish to enter the life sciences, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries. The international applications close on 25 July, 2014.

MS/MTech, PhD at IIT-Madras

IIT-Madras offers an MS/MTech and PhD in computational fluid dynamics to those with a sound background in mechanics. Mathematics and programming are two key areas of study to develop algorithms. MTech students will have a one-year research project to complete.

Montessori Carnival

A Montessori Carnival will be held on February 15 at Nimai Fun Fundamentals, a Montessori school in C V Raman Nagar.

The aim is to create awareness awareness about the authenticity of the Montessori Methodology. Painting and Singing
competition along with free health checkup will be conducted for children of various
age groups.

Call for research proposals

Education New  Zealand and India's University Grants Commission has announced a joint call for research proposals for Indian and New Zealand academics to increase research collaboration across a range of areas including, but not limited to: food security and agriculture; community development and innovation; health; environment and sustainability; India-New Zealand trade relations; information security; and urban planning and development. Correspondence courses

Centre for Continuing Education at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, invites applications for its correspondence courses in BBA (aviation operations and logistics), BSc lateral entry (aviation studies for commercial pilot licence holders and maritime studies for certificate of competency holders), MBA for executives (aviation, logistics and supply chain, power, port and shipping and oil and gas) and part-time PhD (management, engineering, technology, science and legal studies).
