Bangladesh stage and film actress Anju Ghosh has filed a complaint of harassment and cheating against the manager of a Kolkata-based jatra (traditional drama) company.

Ghosh, had played the lead role in the first Indo-Bangla joint production 'Beder Meye Jyotsna' in 1991. It was the remake of a 1989 film reputed to be the highest grossing Bangladeshi film of all time. She is now the lead actress of another city-based 'jatra' company.

Ghosh in her complaint said she was in North Dimajpur on Monday acting in a 'jatra' at Itahar, where she came to know that her name was being used by the Kolkata-based company to sell tickets for another show the next day in the same area.

She filed an FIR at Itahar police station against the group's manager and moved to Malda, where the group allegedly caught up with her there, shadowed her and tried to pull her out of her car the next day.

Ghosh filed another FIR at Englishbazar police station in Malda district against the same company complaining of harassment and cheating, the police said.
