Power struggle

Set in present-day Washington, D.C., House of Cards is the story of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat from South Carolina’s 5th Congressional District and House Majority Whip. After getting passed over for appointment as Secretary of State, Frank decides to exact his revenge on those who betrayed him. The series also stars Robin Wright, Kate Mara and Corey Stoll in lead roles. Catch the political drama starting February 20 at 11 pm, on Zee Cafe.
Kitchen wars
After Masterchef Australia and US, it’s time for Masterchef UK to hit Indian television. The series brings together chef and restaurateur John Torode and food writer Gregg Wallace, who are in pursuit of the country’s top celebrity chef. Over five weeks, contestants will be put to test across locations and arenas of fine dining, mass catering, pastry making and many more. The contestants have to master the art of European cuisines. In a modern adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali takes us to a Gujarati village, Ranjaar, infamous for its uninhibited manufacture and sale of arms and ammunition (weapons are sold like vegetables at the place), two clans, Rajari and Sanera, have been at odds with each other for the past 500 years. When a Rajari boy Ram (Ranveer Singh) falls for a Sanera girl Leela (Deepika Padukone), all hell breaks loose. Catch the tragic love story Goliyon Ki Raasleela — Ram-leela, at 8.30 pm today, on Sony.
