Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Amethi Kumar Vishwas has decided to henceforth spend nights at villages in the constituency in an attempt to connect with the common people in each and every major village panchayat.

Vishwas, who would be contesting against Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, made this announcement at a meeting of the AAP volunteers at Gauriganj, the district headquarters on Tuesday.

The AAP leader, who has been camping in Amethi for the past several days said he intended to meet every voter in the constituency.

Vishwas, before starting his ‘night halts’, undertook a cleaning exercise at the statues of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and Dalit ideologue B R Ambedkar at various cross roads in Gauriganj town.

After his candidature was confirmed in Delhi, Kumar Vishwas called all the full time volunteers of AAP in Amethi for a meet and to discuss the strategy of the election.
He cautioned party workers that opposition parties will launch dubious and spurious operations to malign the party leaders and volunteers alike and they will have to be alert while talking to people on phone or in public.

Citing the history of elections in UP, he suspected that party workers will be offered money to change sides before polling and advised workers to take training to conduct sting operations if something of the sort happens.

Vishwas said the core committee of AAP in Amethi also weighed the options of huge donations that some corporate had offered to it. But it decided to not to take donation from corporates and fight the election on its own and honestly within the stipulated financial limit set by the Election Commission.

Vishwas said that he would not return until he had met almost all the voters in Amethi and added that his jhadu lagao beiman bhagao yatra (sweep away the dishonest with broom) will pass through every village in the constituency.
