Celebrations turn unruly in LS

 Celebrations broke out in the Lok Sabha the moment the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill was passed amid unruly scenes on Tuesday.

Slogans of ‘Jai Telangana’ and ‘Sonia Gandhi Zindabad’ were heard in the House as the Telangana Bill was cleared in a voice vote.Ponnam Prabhakar, a member from Karimnagar in Telangana region, was seen taking out posters thanking Congress President Sonia Gandhi and waving them as Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House proceedings for the day.

In his enthusiasm, Prabhakar tried to hand over the posters to some senior leaders and rush to the Well carrying the huge posters.

However, Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad was seen gesturing at him as advising restraint.

Prabhakar was also seen touching the feet of the Congress President as a mark of gratitude for fulfilling the decades-old demand of the people from the region.

TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, who spearheaded the movement for a separate state, was seen walking up to the Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj to thank her for supporting the Bill.
