Infy to invest Rs 900 cr on Mohali and Nagpur campuses

Infosys will invest a total of Rs 900 crore in the first phases of its two new campuses in Punjab’s Mohali and the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport (MIHAN) SEZ near Nagpur in Maharashtra.

The company said on Saturday that it will invest Rs 425 crore in Phase I of its new campus in Punjab’s Mohali. The new campus at SAS Nagar, Mohali, will be spread over 50 acres of land allocated by the Punjab government and will see construction in phases.

In the first phase of construction, the IT giant will invest Rs 425 crore to create a built-up area of 6.5 lakh sq ft to seat 5,000 software professionals. Phase I of this facility is likely to be completed in the next 24 months, the company said.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal laid the foundation stone for the campus in Mohali on Saturday.

N R Narayana Murthy, Founder and Executive Chairman of the Board, Infosys said in a statement, “We have been successful in Chandigarh and are eager to tap into the talent pool in the region.”

Infosys has invested Rs 332 crore in its Chandigarh campus so far.

The foundation stone of the company’s third campus in Maharashtra at the MIHAN SEZ in Nagpur was laid by Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Saturday.

The MIHAN campus will be spread over 142 acres of land allocated by the Maharashtra government. Infosys said it will invest Rs 475 crore in the first phase of construction on built-up area of 9.5 lakh sq ft. The facility will have a capacity of 5,000 people, with the first phase likely to be completed in the next 24 months, the company said.
Infosys currently runs two facilities in Pune.
