JOIN USThe State government has appointed KAS officer Gangadharaiah as the administrative officer (AO) of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Gangadharaiah took charge as the AO on Saturday.
Gangadharaiah succeeds S P Kulkarni to the post. Earlier this month, Kulkarni was removed from the post in connection with alleged irregularities in the CET 2013 seat allotment.
Inquiry
The inquiry has been handed over to the CID. A departmental inquiry is also pending against him.
On Saturday, KEA held another round of meeting with its legal committee to inquire into the irregularities in seat allotment last year. KEA had constituted the committee to specifically look into the alleged scam.
Final meeting
There would be another round of meeting next week, which will be the final one. After this, KEA will submit its report to the Higher Education department, said KEA director Rame Gowda.
The legal committee comprises directors of all the departments concerned such as AYUSH and medical education. The committee also includes the KEA legal adviser.
