APMC's integrated marketing launched

The State government on Saturday launched the first phase of integrated marketing project under the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) for the markets in Tiptur, Tumkur, Arsikere and Chamarajanagar.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who launched the integrated marketing project, said that it was a revolutionary programme which will help make agriculture a profitable business. He said that the government will launch the project in a phased manner across all the 30 districts over the next few years. 

The chief minister said that the primary objective of integrated marketing is to ensure that farmers get scientific and appropriate price for their produce. 

In the first phase, for the four markets, the government has launched integrated marketing for copra and turmeric. While the facility in Tiptur, Arsikere and Tumkur will be for copra, that in Arsikere will be for turmeric. 

Sinha in city today

Former union finance minister and BJP senior leader Yashwant Sinha will arrive in Bangalore on February 26 for a day-long interaction with industry representatives and the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) to collect inputs for the NDA manifesto, in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.

Sinha, who will address FKCCI members in the morning, will host an informal session for industrialists and entrepreneurs towards the evening.
