Identify buildings that have violated rules, DC tells officials

Deputy Commissioner Anurag Tiwari has directed the officials to identify commercial buildings that have violated rules and vacate those buildings that have been built on parking areas.

Speaking at a task force meeting on Tuesday, he said commercial complexes have violated the rules in Madikeri. This has been hampering the movement and parking of vehicles. A survey should be conducted on those buildings that have violated parking areas and report should be submitted within a week.

The DC said that after giving nod for the draft blue print of a building, the CMC and MUDA officials should inspect the progress of the building in four phases. The officials should ensure that the owners do not deviate from the original plan. After issuing completion certificate, water and electricity connections should be given to the buildings, he said.  “If the revenue is collected properly, then it will help in providing drinking water, road,  park and other basic facilities to the people. To maintain cleanliness, all the complexes should have two coloured dust bins, to segregate the waste from the source.

The CMC Commissioner should issue a circular in this regard.  Additional DC H Prasanna, CMC Commissioner Pushpavathi, RTO Nafees Ahammed among others were present.

A sub committee was constituted with Commissioner, RTO, DCP and Urban Development Commissioner as its members to look into the issue pertaining to development and parking of vehicles.
