Modi, Rahul 'chamchas' of Ambani: Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday attacked BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi terming them as ‘chamchas’ (agents) of the Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani.

Kejriwal dismissed assertions that there was a ‘Modi wave’ in the country and alleged that it was only confined to the the TV channels owing to ‘paid opinion surveys’.

The AAP leader also alleged that BJP appeared to have ‘struck a deal’ with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra and this was the reason why there was no probe into his land deals in Rajasthan where BJP was in power.

“Both Modi and Rahul are chamchas of Mukesh Ambani....Modi even travels in the chopper provided by Mukesh Ambani”, Kejriwal said while addressing a public meeting at Kanpur, about 90 kilometres from here.

He also slammed Modi for what he termed his ‘U-turn’ on the issue of allowing Foreign Direct Investment in retail trade. “Modi had recently supported the FDI in retail trade after initial opposition...It seems he has struck a deal with Walmart...Congress has already taken money from Walmart”, the AAP leader alleged.

Kejriwal said that his party would win more seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections than the Congress. “We may even form the next government if the people unite in supporting us”, he said.

He claimed that only the AAP could provide an honest and efficient government in the country and listed the achievements of his 49-day government in Delhi.
