Govt colleges await nod to offer free courses

Four goverment degree colleges have expressed interest in starting special courses offered by the Bombay Stock Exchange Institute Ltd (BSE) for free and await government’s nod.  

R C College of Commerce and Management, Maharani College are among those which have shown interest in the intiative. With co-operation of Department of Collegiate Education, BSE offers specialised courses such as MA in financial securities, certificate courses in capital markets, market management, financial analysis, without fee. These courses are at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.  

Director of Collegiate Education, B L Bhagyalakshmi, however, said the college has not received any letter and that they should bring it before the department. BSE Academic Head Vinod Nair said they were awaiting government’s nod. 

“A few prominent government colleges have shown interest. We will probably get clearnance from government in 10 days,” he added.
