Tuesday’s Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh has prompted the authorities in Odisha to sound a high alert in all the ultras- infested districts bordering the neighbouring state.
Sources in the home department said the local police and other security agencies have been instructed to remain on alert particularly in Malkangiri and Nowrangpur. “There are chances of Maoist cadres involved in Tuesday’s incident fleeing to these two districts after executing their operation. Therefore, patrolling has been intensified in both the districts,” a home department official said.
