'Ajay is a simple guy'

Looks like actor-turned-director Prabhu Deva has a lot of stories to tell. His latest directorial venture Action Jackson features Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.

The movie is a melange of many stories about various facets of Mumbai. The first half of the movie is shot on the streets of Mumbai and the second half unveils overseas.Prabhu says that he got to spend some quality time with Ajay Devgn, whose work he has been following for many years now.

Prabhu has worked with almost all the top actors in Bollywood and he confesses that he couldn’t think of anybody better than Ajay to fit into the character.

Ask him whether the film was tailor-made for Ajay and Prabhu says, “Yes, in a certain sense it is. I visualised it for Ajay and he has performed extraordinarily well. He has held out the character very well. He has his own style.”

None of Prabhu’s movies are complete without his iconic dance moves and in this film too, Prabhu has got Ajay to do some tough dances steps.

“Yes, we danced a lot and this also gave us a chance to spend a lot of time together. Ajay is a simple guy and can easily adapt to just about any character. There isn’t really anything that he can’t do given the years of experience in the industry,” feels Prabhu. He has some equally good things to say about Sonakshi and Yami Gautam as well.

“Sonakshi is a brilliant dancer. She picks up the moves very fast. This is the first time, I am working with Yami. She too has done her part well. We have a great team,” adds Prabhu.
Prabhu feels that Ajay has worked really hard to fit into the role both in terms of his acting and physical appearance.
“Ajay has lost a lot of weight for his role and he has spent a lot of time working on getting a six-pack. It is important that the hero of a film emotionally connects with people and we have been able to achieve that here,” he shares.

Prabhu Deva is all set to make the second part of ABCD, which is tentatively titled ABCD2.

“A large part of the film will be shot in Las Vegas. No other film explored dance the way we did and that’s why the demand for one more film on the same lines. I am yet to decide the cast,” he signs off.
