SC to decide fate of obeseair hostesses

After lengthy arguments on the issue from advocates representing both the Centre and the airhostesses, the Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved its order on the matter for Monday. During the arguments a bench headed by Justice Tarun Chatterjee observed: “Are they recruited for ramp walk or to work as air hostesses?’’

Appearing for the government, Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium said: “The rule specifies that they will have to maintain a constant weight if they wanted to be on job.’’
Nine air hostesses of Indian had approached the Court challenging their termination of services.
