Homage to brave soldier

Soldier B K Sunil, who died during the fire exchange between terrorists in Jammu, was laid to rest with State honours, at his native Badakinakoppalu, at KR Nagar, here on Thursday.

The 22 year old soldier’s mortal remains were brought to his native and kept for people to pay homage. Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare, MP A H Vishwanath and others paid their respects.

On the occasion, irked villagers protested against Deputy Commissioner C Shikha’s absence and blocked the Bilikere-Belur Highway for sometime. They demanded that Shikha must come to the spot immediately and blocked highway for an hour. Later police pacified them. The villagers even expressed their ire against MLA Sa Ra Mahesh, for not paying a visit to soldier’s house.
